VIEUX CARRÉ ▶️

This 30’s cocktail is a variation on the classic Manhattan cocktail that begins with equal parts of rye whiskey, Cognac, and sweet vermouth. Not one, but two bitters are used and there is a hint of a classic herbal liqueur to give it even more dimension. Vieux Carré means beautiful square in French and refers to the French Quarter in New Orleans.
